Up to 70% of the residents of the 35 Muslims of America compounds were recruited in prison. Their Pakistani leader requires them to send 30% of their income to him, to fund his various activities. (He is leader of Jamat Ul-Fuqra, a known terrorist organization.)
It should not surprise us that, in addition to training ex-cons in the use of small arms, the Muslims of America raises funds through illicit trafficking in counterfeit goods. See this Fox News report:
