More Improvised Weapons: A Video

My barber sent me the link to this video. It contains some worthwhile tips about improvised self-defense weapons.

It also made me realize that I need to bump "good tactical flashlight" a few notches higher on my wish list.

Very interesting and informative video. When I got my last flashlight I got a NEBO (http://www.nebotools.com/products/5085_SuperTacticalCSI15LED.pdf). The price was great (19.99) and it has a tactical tip for defense, types of light (white, Green, and a lazer), and it runs on AAA Batteries. I probably do not carry it near enough. They also have a slightly smaller one which may work better.

I recommend the Surefire G2 LED. It's incredibly small, sufficiently cute for the womenfolk (my sis loves hers) and VERY tough. I carried it through the O Course (involves crawling through sand and water) at Benning and it never missed a lick. With the LED light, the batteries last about 12 hours with 123A lithium. I think MSRP is about $75 but you can easily get them off of ebay for $50.

Here's another video you might find interesting on the subject:

Gravelbelly,

I was wondering if you might have any advice on a knife to carry every day. The knife which I used to carry (cheep one hand operation) broke and I am looking for another. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Valiant,
I don't know whether you're looking for a knife to serve as a weapon or just as a cutting tool. I recommend you read a couple of posts I wrote, "The 'Right' Knife", then get back to me with your specific requirements for a carry knife.

I am looking for a folding knife to serve as a weapon for self defense. As I read your article I made a mental list of my knives and there purposes. I have general cutting knives, survival knives, Etc. But I do not have one which I feel is a good self defense knife. I have thought that having assisted opening and a pocket clip would be advantages for this type of knife. I hope this helps.
